“Transferring Risk Assessment System to Mongolia”

KOSHA, Invited the Delegation of Mongolian General Agency for Specialized Inspection

 KOSHA (President Hun-ki Baek) invited the delegation of Mongolian General Agency for Specialized Inspection composed of 5 people including the Deputy Director Gunibazar for 3 days from March 19 to 21 and transferred Korea's occupational safety and health techniques and systems to Mongolia through a focused discussion on how to implement the techniques and systems in Mongolia.

 

 Mongolian General Agency for Specialized Inspection is in charge of the inspection and monitoring operations of the 14 departments of the Mongolian government and is an independent agency capable of imposing penalty, administrative measure, and suspension of use based on the result of inspection. The agency has a great interest in the risk assessment system of Korea, how safety and health curriculum is operated, and the application of the disaster prevention techniques and the suspension of the use of asbestos in the construction industry in Mongolia.

 

 Since 2004, KOSHA has been promoting multilateral technological support programs including safety and health training, joint research in expert areas, and local technical advice for Mongolian public officials of safety and health related departments according to the Occupational Safety and Health Agreement concluded between KOSHA and General Agency for Specialized Inspection (2010).

 

 “We hope the discussion with the Mongolian delegation on disaster prevention substantially contribute to the implementation of occupational safety and health and disaster prevention in Mongolia,” said Gye-wan Bae, Head of International Cooperation Center of KOSHA, “KOSHA will continue to elevate our international position concerning occupational safety and health by continuously providing technological support for disaster prevention in developing countries in Asia.“
