Mandatory Safety Certification

General

The mandatory safety certification system aims to ensure that only safe products are manufactured and used. The safety certification system conducts comprehensive evaluation on the safety of the high-risk machineries, protective devices including explosion-proof devices, Personal protective equipment (PPE) from their manufacturing and installation stage. Furthermore, the system evaluates technical expertise and production system of the manufacturer

Kinds of Assessment and durations

Type of Assessment		Duration
Document Review	Review for appropriateness of product design drawing, structure and material and others to the safety certification standard.	15 days (30 days when manufactured in overseas)
Assessment on technical competency and production system	Review for appropriateness of technical ability and production system that is required at the work site to the safety certification standard for maintaining and guaranteeing the safety capability continuously.	30 days (45 days when manufactured in overseas)
Product examination	Examination for appropriateness of quality on the product safety to the safety certification standard.	15 days / 30 days / 60 days(depends on item)
Surveillance Assessment	Review whether the manufacturer continuously maintain the requirements of the time of obtaining the certification once per year
