Voluntary Safety Certification (S Mark)

    The S Mark Safety Certification System helps manufacturers to ensure their own safety from the designing and production stages. With the aim of achieving fundamental safety of industrial machinery and equipment, and to ultimately prevent occupational accidents, the S Mark Safety Certification System was introduced since November, 1997

    Machinery tools (CNC lathe, Milling, etc) Transport machinery (Electric Fork Lift, etc) Semi-conductor, LCD manufacturing equipment (I ncluding pre-treatment process, after-treatment process, assembly, test & inspection for semi-conductor, etc) Automatic equipment/facilities (Robot, etc) The others industrial machinery Senor, etc Breaker, etc gauge, etc Industrial computer and relative parts, etc sling, etc Safety parts, etc
  • Kinds of Assessment and durations
    Type of Assessment Duration
    Document Review Review for appropriateness of product design drawing, structure and material and others to the safety certification standard. 15 days (30 days when manufactured in overseas)
    Assessment on technical competency and production system Review for appropriateness of technical ability and production system that is required at the work site to the safety certification standard for maintaining and guaranteeing the safety capability continuously. 30 days (45 days when manufactured in overseas)
    Product examination Examination for appropriateness of quality on the product safety to the safety certification standard. 15 days /30 days /60 days(depends on item)
    Surveillance Assessment Review whether the manufacturer continuously maintain the requirements of the time of obtaining the certification once per year
