KOSHA opened “Jeonbuk Seobu Area Office” on March 25^th

Timely technical assistance to more than 30,000 workplaces

Tight technical assistance to prevent industrial accidents is now provided to workplaces in the western area of Jeollabuk-do including Gunsan-si, Iksan-si, etc.

KOSHA (headed by President Baek Hun-ki) opened Jeonbuk Seobu Area Office and started the full-scale operation of the office on Tuesday, March 25^th.

The area office, in charge of 2 guns and 3 sis, will provide the OSH service to more than 230,000 workers from about 30,000 workplaces in this area.

The opening of Jeonbuk Seobu Area Office is meaningful in respect of laying groundwork for tight technical assistance at close distance to workplaces in this area. Before, technical assistance to prevent accidents was provided from far away so it was difficult to support workplaces in a timely manner.

Jeonbuk Seobu Area Office will cover the area where 3 national industrial complexes including Saemangeum seawall (total business scale of more than 40,000 ha), 3 regional industrial complexes, and 17 agricultural industrial complexes are in.

At the opening ceremony, representatives of labor and management adopted a resolution setting up the safety culture and hung up a signboard.

KOSHA now performs activities to prevent industrial accidents, based on its system consisted of 6 Regional Offices and 21 Area Offices, with 27 affiliated organizations nationwide.

President Baek Hun-ki of KOSHA said, “Opening of Jeonbuk Seobu Area Office will contribute to preventing industrial accidents by providing tight assistance to the workplaces in this area in a timely manner.” “We hope that the opening will create safer and healthier working environment in Jeollabuk-do,” he added.
