KOSHA released occupational injuries and illnesses Statistics for 2011 as unofficial version. Non-fatal injuries and illnesses of 2011 reduced by 5.5% to 93,263 year on year while fatal injuries and illnesses decreased by 3.9% to 2114 year on year according to the result. Looking at the result by sectors, the service industry saw reduced number of non-fatal injuries and illnesses by 3154 cases mainly from collision and rollover. In spite of above result, the analysis summary of statistics shows that there were increasing injuries and illness case of foreign workers and those who work in the construction sector. Also, the case of occupational illnesses and injuries soared in the transportation, warehousing and communication service industry compared to that of previous year.
