KOSHA Emphasizes “Responsible Management System” to Reduce Accidents February 21, 2011 On February 21 (Mon.), at 3 p.m. a “performance agreement” was signed among the directors of the headquarters and regional/area offices of KOSHA (Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency; President: Min-Ki Noh). The For more than a decade, occupational accident rate remained stagnant in Korea, remaining above 0.7% level. Against the backdrop, KOSHA established performance-based “Responsible Management System” and empowered the directors of departments and regional/area office heads to have more authorities as well as responsibilities. KOSHA’s goal this year is to reduce the rate of occupational accidents by 0.05%p, from last year, to 0.64%.
