Workers’ health care center opens in Chung-nam area

Providing free consulting on occupational health forworkers working at small-sized work places with fewer than 50 employees

Planning to extend the number of centers up to 10 within a year

Workers’ Health Care Center opens in Chung-nam province that provides free consulting service and health promotion programs for workers working at small-sized work places with fewer than 50 employees.

The center located in Buldang-dong, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungnam, had an opening ceremony on May 2 where president Hun-ki Baek of KOSHA joined to celebrate.

Free services provided by occupational and environmental physicians, nurses, occupational hygiene experts, physiotherapists, psychotherapists and occupational health experts include; counseling on diseases and job-related stress, assessment on work acceptability, and programs for patients with musculoskeletal disorder.

There are 8 health care centers as of now added by one just opened in Chung-nam which will be run to care employees working at Cheonan industrial complex and other places, with existing centers in industrial complexes in Incheon, Siheung, Gwangju, Daegu, Changwon, Seongnam and Seoul.

A person from KOSHA said “the center would care for workers at work places with fewer than 50 workers which usually have hardships to provide health care services with lack of time and money.” adding that this kind of center is specialized to care for working men and women. More centers, meanwhile are going to open in Ulsan and other cities as well within this year, to be 10 in total across the country.
